Let me start by saying I have absolutely no problem, no issues, no quarrels or any negative thoughts towards gay rights, couples or them getting married. No one should have any control over who you want to marry except you and that person, no one has the right to say that you can't marry someone of the same sex because of tradition or religion fux that. If it makes you happy and you are not hurting anyone or destroying the earth I'm happy with it.
Okay now that's out the way, a federal judge ruled today to allow same sex couples to marry in California starting on August 18th. If you remember just last week Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker issued that Prop 8 which banned same-sex couples from marrying in Cali, Walker ruled that Prop 8 was unconstitutional.
Same sex marriage is legal in five states and the District of Columbia, the states are Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Iowa and New Hampshire. Back in 08' Prop 8 stated that marriage is defined between a man and a woman and passed with 52% of the vote in November of 2008.
The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will receive the case next before it could possibly hit DC and the U.S. Supreme Court.
